Tower of Babel Lauren Stigers

Before the Tower of Babel, the world had one language that allowed everyone to communicate. The people built a tower that would reach to heaven. In the process of building this, God thought the stairway to heaven would not lead people to God, but quite the opposite. God confused their language in these moments, resulting in the people not understanding each other. This scattered the people around the world, and this is how language evolved. Different parts of the world would develop their own ways of communicating, influencing the culture and ways of the place. This marks a time in which God divided the people around the world, forming continents and countries. Without this story, the world would be entirely different, without different cultures and means of communication. It is vital for the understanding of well why we think the people in the nail place are talking about us in their completely unique language. Sorry that was a very conceded example, but seriously whenever someone is speaking a different language that you don't understand, you think they are talking about you or you are missing out on some really awesome conversation.
My stairway to heaven would include getting to know about heaven from a variety of people. I wish that I could talk to someone in heaven, but that's not possible obviously. Learning how other cultures view heaven would be important to me in understanding what my personal stairway to heaven could be. I would like to know sign language because it is a unique and just awesome way of communicating.  I always find myself looking at the sign language translator in church trying to figure out words.
