Abraham and Isaac

There was a man named Abraham who had a wife named Sarah. Sarah had trouble bearing children and ultimately Abraham had a child with their handmaiden named Hagar. Their son was named Ishmael. Then something happens where Sarah can have a child and she gives birth to a son named Isaac. There's conflict between Isaac and Ishmael but that's irrelevant to the blog post I guess. God tells Abraham to sacrifice his son (Isaac, obv) to prove Abraham's love for God. Remember that Abraham loved his son so very dearly. So when Abraham went to sacrifice his son on Mount Moriah God was like "hah jk dude i was just testin u." Because Abraham was willing to sacrifice his son, he proved his devotion to God.

The only thing I really have to say for true sacrifice is that the Divergent series really explains it. But I can't elaborate because spoilers. Everyone should just freakin read Allegiant.
Also Alex in Delirium. He sacrifices himself in a way. Not sure if it's ~true sacrifice~ but it's def sacrifice.
And Teresa from the Maze Runner. Kind of.
I DON'T KNOW there's a lot of sacrifice but to label it "true" would be difficult.
