so yeah. daphne was doin her own thing.
meanwhile, apollo was mocking eros because he was a bad archer??? or something?????? like dude shut up youre a prick

so eros gets understandably upset at this teasing and decides that hes gonna take two arrows, one that causes insatiable love and the other insatiable disgust, and pull a lil prank on apollo
he shoots apollo with the love arrow and daphne with the disgust arrow and wOW THIS IS GOING TO GO SWIMMINGLY AINT IT

so yeah basically apollo popped a huge stiffy for daphne and daphne was having none of this. but. yeah
consent issues. ceaseless pursuance of a woman. wow. wow what a touching story
so yeah apollo chased daphne to the point that she was about to pass out from exhaustion (and then, of course, apollo could have his way with her because thATS HOW CONSENT WORKS :') :') :') UGHHHHHH)
it was then that she prayed to the gods for her rapist to fuuuuuh for her to be saved, and she got turned into a laurel bush just as apollo was about to pounce.
being a disgusting dick, apollo crowned himself with laurels and made it so that in memory of his ''''''''love'''''' the laurel would be evergreen a.k.a. forever young and gOD GOD GOD THIS IS SICKENING

because i am very upset over this story im going to make my comments on eternal youth brief
basically i wouldnt want to stay young forever because being Not A Legal Adult sucks and also i wouldnt want people to be stuck in a really shitty youth forever yknow???
though it would be nice to be able to age but without getting increasingly disgusted with myself as the years go by
like let me be 75 yrs old and still somewhat good looking thatd be great
