Blog Number Five - Noah and the Flood

So this is what happened. There were angels in heaven who saw these attractive women on Earth and wanted them for themselves. So they materialized into humans (which they were not designed to do) and had kids with these women. The kids were hybrids (half-angel, half man) and they were called the Nephilim. They had extraordinary strength and size and wrecked havoc. God saw all the bad things man was getting into with the Nephilim and decided that he was going to bring all the violence to an end. He assigned Noah with the task of not only building the ark (about 437 ft long and 44 ft tall), but also to preach to the people of the chance to save themselves. It took 40 to 50 years to complete the task, and the whole time the people just laughed at them. Considering the fact that Noah could not have collected all the animals and needed divine backing to do such a task makes me wonder how the people could not have believed him. I mean, seriously. Anyway, once the animals and Noah, his sons, and their wives were safely in the ark, God shut the door (yet another sign of divine backing that people should have noticed but didn't). It started raining then. And it didn't stop. When God created the Earth there was a separation of the waters (water in the atmosphere and water on Earth). The water in the atmosphere was abundant; it was this extremely huge cloud so before the Flood there was no thing as seasons. Well all that water poured down for 40 days. And after the Flood there came to be seasons. I think we all know how Noah came out of the ark.

An animal that fascinates me is the gecko. I used to have a pet lizard (he was a green anole) named Coco. He should have only lasted about three months, but he lived for about three years. He used to have a brother, but I think he died of stress.... Anyway, Coco could change colors (green to brown, brown to green - okay so it wasn't the rainbow. Sue me.) It was really cool to see him do it. And when shed his skin, that was awesome. Then my cat took his tail off (it was just lying in the middle of my bedroom floor - which was interesting, because it's not everyday you see an amputated lizard's tail), and he grew a new one. So yeah, geckos, lizards, chameleons are pretty awesome creatures.

I think the world will end in a variety of ways. I mean we could have meteorites raining down on us in one hemisphere, an ice age in another, people killing themselves in another, and earthquakes in another. I try not to think about how the world is going to end, just the fact that it's going to end is important.
