ALL TOO WELL T SWIZZLE

First of all, I absolutely love this blog post, and there are so many songs I could do for this, but I chose all too well by Taylor Swift because  I love her. Every "teen" girl has probably cried to this song about love, so it works well for this assignment. Taylor Swift uses a mixture of imagery, literary devices, and figurative language to give the listener feelings about a heartbreak probably. Taylor Swift is genius in the matter of that she makes situations that are so probable for a relationship that everyone can relate to it, even if the circumstances. No joke, whenever a girl is upset about a relationship being over, tell her to listen to this song and she will probably be sad or emotional and get it all out... works every time."I'm crumbled up piece of paper lying here" uses figurative language in order to convey the sense of brokenness the girl feels. She feels like she can't move on because she remembers all of these details that Taylor Swift captures through her strong language and angered tone and voice. "Call me up again just to break me like a promise..So casually cruel in the name of being honest" incorporates both a simile and alliteration in order to be extra dramatic and show how the guy broke his promise and is continuing to play the girl just by simply calling her. If she had just written, "he called me and said hi" it wouldn't have the dramatic effect. Even the repetition of "I remember it all too well" shows that the girl is still hung up on the old relationship and getting upset over it even though it is over. She wishes she could just forget it but she "remembers is all too well." "The autumn leaves falling down like pieces into place and I can picture it after all these days" is another simile that captures how "perfect" she thinks this relationship was and how she can still remember all of these little details about this guy that she obviously isn't over.  "This thing was a masterpiece til you tore it all up" uses more figurative language to get out the anger that the girl feels. The guy obviously didn't tear up a relationship because that isn't possible, but it conveys an angry tone and emphasizes how she feels. It is relatable because it puts the blame on someone else.
The combination of the literary devices, imagery, tone, diction, and figurative language throughout the song have a major effect. I mean it really is a perfect song to listen to right after you break off a relationship or are angry about it. I think it is so powerful because you can sense her rage in the song. She paints pictures with imagery of scenes that girls can relate to easily, making the song a success. So pretty much, don't break Taylor  Swift's heart because she will construct a masterpiece with her anger.
