Abraham and Issac

God told Abraham to sacrifice his son,
Abraham said "Okay, let's get it done."
He took his son and servants on a trip,
And despite their kinship,
Abraham tied Issac up,
Disregarding potential gossip.
"Wait, wait! Don't do it!" the angels exclaimed,
"For you have proven your fear," they proclaimed.
So Issac's life was spared,
With his mother having no need to despair.
"Your sons will populate the land," God said,
"Since you have done what I bid."

When faced with the choice between sacrificing his son to God or keeping his son safe, Abraham without a doubt decided to sacrifice his son. I mean, literally, the next day they packed up a mule and up the mountain they went. No questions, no arguments. Then again, it wouldn't be in your best interest to oppose God, since you know, he's all powerful, and what not. So did Abraham do this out of fear or out of reverence? And if it was out of fear, would this constitute as a true sacrifice? Because in my opinion I think there should be some sort of willingness in true sacrifice.  Sure God didn't outright threaten anything if Abraham didn't obey, but disobeying God doesn't seem like it would be in one's self interest. At least Isaac was spared in the end or else that would have been really sad. The end.
